Meet Steven

Experienced Banker in the Upstate

Steven brings over 20 years of banking experience to Southern First along with a passion for helping others grow. He started as a teller the day after high school, inspired by his grandfather’s banking career and desire to make an impact. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Arkansas. Steven has worked in nearly every retail banking role, from teller to collections to branch manager, giving him a unique understanding of the industry. He is known for his energetic presence, positive attitude, and natural ability to teach and inspire those around him. He thrives on helping new bankers grow in their careers and is committed to building lasting relationships with both clients and teammates. Steven serves on the Mauldin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as Treasurer of the Hillcrest High Band Booster Club, and is a devoted Sunday School teacher at Glendale Baptist Church in Mauldin. When he is not working, Steven enjoys life with his wife and two sons. His oldest focuses on band, and his youngest plays in band while also participating in travel and school basketball. He spends most weekends traveling to competitions, and Steven would not have it any other way.
